We are delighted to announce that Denis Maguire will become the Hair and Barber Council’s new Ambassador in Ireland, Greece, Poland and Spain. Denis is the Principal of Cork Academy and the Head Examiner for the Associate of British & International Hairdressing Schools.
Denis started his training academy in 1989 in Cork, has survived many recessions, and attributes his success mainly to the high quality and delivery of training standards, and keeping up with all the newest trends and visions within the industry.
His training academy runs a variety of training courses and looks after the training needs of many salons and barbershops. In addition to which he trains many foreign students and runs an extremely successful exchange programme with students from France and Belgium though the ‘Erasmus’ scheme.
Denis is totally dedicated to the highest levels of training and education and ensures his academies provide just that! As the Head of Examiners for the Association of British and International School for over 15 years, he has overseen the progress and development of training standards and hopes to maintain and further develop this role and skills over the coming years.
He was awarded his ‘Fellowship’ in 1989 and whilst his passion and heart is most definitely within training and education, he also runs a group of highly successful hairdressing salons.
Totally dedicated to ensure hairdressing, barbering and beauty in the UK is at last recognised as the true profession it is, spurred Denis into joining us, ensuring that all his students moving forward recognise the importance of mandatory registration and the huge benefits this will bring to the industry as a whole.
